Meaningful & Fun Networking!
The KSCPA Leadership Program truly is the single event I can point to that started a string of professional volunteer opportunities and relationships in my career and life. A CPA’s career is built around relationships. Making those connections with current and future leaders in the profession, many of whom remain lifelong friends to this day, was priceless and so crucial to any success I’ve had.
The Leadership Program was an invaluable experience! Technical training is available to us in abundance…but it’s not often to find a program that provides coaching on interpersonal skills while also allowing for networking and team-building with peers from all facets of the profession. I highly recommend the Leadership Program for anyone looking to better themselves both personally and professionally. I would participate again in a heartbeat!
First and foremost, I am very thankful and am blessed and lucky enough to be selected for the program. Not only are there opportunities to network with fellow program attendees who are great leaders in their respective industry/company, but you also get to network with distinguished alumni. To top it off, numerous valuable presentations provide direct takeaways that impact all aspects of life (work, personal, social, etc.). I considered it an opportunity that I could not pass up, and I highly recommend it for future leaders.
As a graduate of the first KSCPA Leadership Program, I've experienced the program's powerful impact on both my own career and those of so many emerging leaders within the accounting profession in Kansas. It helped sharpen my leadership skills, began many valuable life-long relationships, and led to a number of leadership opportunities in the KSCPA and beyond.
The Leadership Program helped demonstrate how we as CPAs can positively influence others. Influence involves building trust, which is long associated with the CPA brand, and relationships. Positive influence can shift mindsets.
